Due to rights This lute harp is approximately 27" and has 22 nylon strings. It has a solid rosewood frame with a birch plywood soundboard. There are four soundholes on the HARP-LUTE English By Edward Light, London, about 1810 Inscribed 675. Light. Foley Place, London Strung with twelve strings, of which seven can be played on the fingerboard and five are basses, four of which can be raised a semi-tone by turning blades called "ring stops".

Harp-lute, Edward Light, London, English, c. 1816. In 1816 Edward Light (c. 1747-c.1832) patented the 'British harp-lute', a combination of both instruments, with a fingerboard which extended the range of the top two strings, and 12 finger-operated stops which raised the strings a semi-tone.

The Vulcan lute (sometimes referred to as Vulcan harp, Vulcan lyre, or Vulcan lyrette) was a twelve-stringed musical instrument, played on the planet Vulcan, that was tuned on a diatonic scale and noted to be very soothing.

There are four soundholes on the back. Strings run from tuning pegs on the curved neck to an angled bridge on soundboard. Includes tuning tool. A number of harp-like instruments in Africa are not easily classified with European categories. Instruments like the West African kora and Mauritanian ardin are sometimes labeled as "spike harp", "bridge harp", or harp lute since their construction includes a bridge which holds the strings laterally, vice vertically entering the soundboard. The harp lute, or dital harp, is a musical instrument that combines features of harp and lute and to increase its compass of the latter.
